Jeff Atmajian is an American composer, arranger, orchestrator, and conductor whose work has helped shape the sound of modern cinema. Born and raised in Fresno, California, he began studying classical piano at the age of seven before expanding into jazz and composition as a teenager. After earning a degree in Composition from California State University, Fresno, he moved to Los Angeles to study film scoring at USC, where he began the path toward an international career spanning film, concert music, and orchestral performance. Over the decades, Jeff has become widely respected for his emotional sensitivity, musical sophistication, and extraordinary ability to bring cinematic storytelling to life through orchestral sound.
Throughout his career, Jeff has contributed to more than 200 films, collaborating with acclaimed composers including James Newton Howard, Marc Shaiman, Rachel Portman, Gabriel Yared, and Hildur Guðnadóttir. His work can be heard in celebrated films such as The American President, The Sixth Sense, Mary Poppins Returns, Joker, The Hunger Games, and both recent film adaptations of Wicked, for which he provided new full symphonic orchestrations for all the songs and overtures.
Jeff divides his time between Los Angeles and London, and continues to be regarded as one of the leading orchestral voices working in film music today. From his beginnings in Fresno to the world’s great recording stages, Jeff’s artistry, generosity of spirit, and enduring contribution to film music continue to resonate with audiences around the world.
